James Clinton Bailey

James Clinton Bailey, 73, passed away at the VA Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. early Friday morning (May 27, 2016) after a long illness. Jim was born in Athens, GA on Sept. 22, 1942 and lived in Tallahassee, Fla., Gainesville, Fla., and in East Lake Weir, Fla. at the time of his death. He is the son of J.S. and Irene Bailey and had three children; Clint Bailey of East Lake Weir, Fla., Suzanne Bailey of Thomasville, GA and Jason Bailey of Cairo, GA. He also had 2 grandchildren, Joshua Bailey and Elijah Eubanks. Jim attended Florida State University and along with his longtime business partner, Sally Wolking, owned a real estate appraisal business covering Marion and Sumter Counties. He had previously worked in Alachua Co. as an appraiser and had served in the United States Army. Expressions of sympathy should be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
