Sherman Larry Harper

Sherman was born on July 22,1943, in Durham, NC. Just two short weeks after his 73rd birthday on August 3, 2016, he let go of this earthly plane. He now sits with the Lord, free from pain, waiting for his family to join him. He awaits his wife, Doye “Dee” Baxter Harper of Bronson, FL, where they shared a home; His grandson (son) Robert “Robby” Harper of Fort Worth, TX; His daughter, Donna Harper Casteneda and her husband, who Sherman felt was his son, Javier Casteneda of Ocala, FL; His two

step-daughters Lisa Siler and Leah Shelton of Fort Lauderdale, FL; He will await his siblings as well,

His Brother Gerald Franklin Harper Sr.; And his sisters Shirley Barber and Shelby McCannon of GA.

And many more grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sherman was a great man who lived here in Florida for many years with his loving wife Dee. He loved to talk, laugh, and wear a smile! Even in the worst of pain the man would still smile. He was a man who loved with his whole heart. We would graciously offer the shirt off his back if someone he loved needed it.

Sherman was a man who cared for his wife and family. In his final moments his worry laid with his wife, that she needed to still be cared for and looked after and told his children this much. For so many years he never worried for himself, just those around him that he loved.

For as much as Sherman loved his family, he was also very proud of his profession. He worked hard as a plumber at several locations for more than 30 Plus years. He did it without complaint and never even took a vacation. He truly loved to work. He was a man who took pride in all that he did and was right to do so.

We, the family of Sherman Harper extend our deepest apology to Sherman Larry Harper, of Athens, GA, for omitting him, in error when we listed Sherman's remaining family members. He was Sherman's first born, and only son.

Our loss here on Earth, shall be Heaven’s Gain.

  1. Sherman, You will be missed. I sure enjoyed our talks. It’s a loss for everyone to see you go. I know that God has you in His mighty hand now. Thanks for being there when I needed you. Tell Buddy I miss him too… – Larry –

  2. Doye, So sorry you have had to endure this time of lost, sadness and tears. It will get better and you will fine your way again, you always do. I do wish I could be with you as you were with me, but that’s not how the Lord has it right now. My heart and Spirit are with you even if I’m not. I love you Sis so stay strong as you’ve always been.

  3. How appropriate that I should sign first. You were the love of my life and part of me left this world when you did. But I know you are waiting for me and the rest of our loved ones. Best of all I know you are with Jesus. So wait patiently my love-for when He calls me home we will roam over Heaven together. You will be missed.

  4. My heart hurts for your loss, but my soul rejoices for the angel in heaven and out of worldly pain and suffering. I love you both dearly and will miss your soul mate. I know he will be waiting in heaven with open arms for your reunion when the time is right. Until then we need you here with us Aunt Doye all you need to do is call. All my love Suzie.

  5. The Tuccito Family sends our sincerest sympathies and condolences for your loss. Rest in peace, Sherman Harper.

  6. How I will miss our phone calls and your opinions on everything in life. You made my Aunt happy and you loved each other unconditionally and I am proud that you all let me always be a part of that love. Till I see you on the other side dance and laugh with the angels and tell my brother I miss him too.
