Mr. Swilley was a lifetime friend of my Husband Lendell. We were sadden by the news of his passing. Our condolences to his family.
Today is June 14 2023 and I am just now aware of Gary's passing. We worked together in Cross City as installers. I was new and inexperienced and Gary took me under his wing. He was fun to work with and very supportive as we worked under a tyrant foreman. I have thought of him often over the last 50+ years. So sorry to just now know of his death. My favorite story (that I have repeated many times) was one night he was out hunting and chasing the dogs, leaped across a creek and was met with a water moccasin mid stride. The snakes fangs were in-bedded in his rubber boot and he had to decide to shake it off or shoot it off with a shotgun. He shook it off.
RIP Gary!
