Robert Kenneth Colvin, Jr., of Alachua, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home in Alachua, Florida, on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. He was 75. Bob was born in 1942 in Nevada, Missouri, and spent the majority of his life in the Kansas City area. He moved to Alachua, Florida in 2000.
Bob graduated from Ruskin High School in 1960, served in the U.S. Marine Corps from1960-1966, and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, 442 CAMS Tactical Airlift Wing, Richards Gebaur AFB, Missouri, from 1987, until his retirement in 2002. In addition, he retired from the Marine Corps Finance Center, Kansas City, Missouri, in 1997. He loved traveling, scuba diving, skiing, fishing, golfing, reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, Betty Jean Parmley and Robert Kenneth Colvin, and his step-father, Donald G. Parmley. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janice G. Colvin; Children, Angela Sadler (Jim), Dan Colvin (Charlotte), and Sean Colvin; his Sister, Cheryl Melton (Ray), and his Brothers, Michael W. Colvin (Debbie) and Gary Parmley (Missy); his Granddaughter, Brianna Ingels, and 6 Nieces and Nephews.
