Gregory Allen Deist

May 28, 2018

Deist, Gregory Allen

It is with great sadness that the family of Gregory Allen Deist, resident of Trenton, FL, must announce his passing, on Monday, May 28, 2018 at the age of 60 years. Greg was born in Canton, OH and graduated from Sandy Valley High School. He has spent the past 19 years working for Babcock & Wilcox as a field engineer. His career took him all over the world, to places a simple country boy such as himself never would have imagined to go.

Weary of reading obituaries noting someone’s courageous battle with death, Greg wanted it known that he died as a result of being stubborn, refusing to follow doctors’ orders and defying most rules for more than six decades. He enjoyed junk food, heavy equipment that he did not need, and fixing anything that was not broke.

Greg will be lovingly remembered by Pamela, his wife of 22 years, his mother Mary Jane (Stauffer) Wallace, his siblings Steve, Sharlyn and Carolyn, his sons Jamie and Jason, his stepchildren Brandy, Garry, and Matt. Greg will also be fondly remembered by his nine grandchildren, Bradley (deceased), Hunter, Larry, Morgan, Tyler, Blake, Luke, Alexandra, and Bryce. Greg was predeceased by his father Verl Deist.

Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Greg Deist to the American Heart Association (PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692).
