  1. I found this picture, of Steve, doing one of the things he loved. Lobstering in the Keys. He loved the water and if you were lucky enough to be one of his friends, he loved you! Rest in peace, my friend. You will be dearly missed! πŸ’”

  3. He was a true renaissance man, no doubt. And a great respecter of the natural order of things. He is soaring with the hawks.

  4. Ellen and kids, you know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Steve was definitely one of a kind and will be missed by our entire family. His talents were truly many. I remember that he could get the dogs to lay down just by giving them that particular look. In any survival situation, he is the one person we’d all like to have with us. Without a doubt he was the BEST at the grill with seafood and venison! We will keep fond memories of him in our hearts and will look forward to sharing them at family gatherings for years to come.

  5. Ellen please know that Al and I are thinking of you and your family. We extend our most heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Sending much Love and Light to you. JANNY

  6. First distinct and lasting memory of Steve: I was in 8th grade or so and had just suffered my first romantic loss to a much more "mature" teen. Steve understood how heartbroken I was, and he confided to me that it’s a tough thing, losing a girlfriend. That didn’t necessarily cheer me up, but it was what I needed to hear. Fair winds and following seas, brother.

  7. I am very sad at my baby brothers passing. It is shocking and very untimely. He was so young. It is very very sad that I will never see him again.

  8. Ellen and family, we are deeply sorry for your loss. Β Although we never had the privilege of meeting Steve, he sounded like a truly amazing man and a lover of nature. Please accept our condolences. Β Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Β May he Rest In Peace.
