Kimberly Cheek Potter, 60, died April 9, 2019 at home in St. Johns Florida 2-yrs after a diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer. Her final days were painless and most of the days in the last 2-yrs were filled with travel, family and joy. Born in Bowling Green, KY to Dr. J. Joe Cheek and Nancy Crouch Cheek who preceded her in death, Kimberly was a 1976 graduate of “The High School” of Bowling Green and a 1980 grad of Indiana University.
In her professional career, Kimberly proudly served as Director of Sales for several notable hotels and as Events Manager of ICF Int’l on contracts with the National Institute of Health.
Kimberly is survived by her husband, William (Skip) Potter and her adoring extended family of 5 kids (Mark, Tami, Lisa, Stacie & Rick), 12 grandkids (Ryan, Rebecca, Mark, Laura, Andrew, Drew, Dalton, Adrian, Zachary, Trey, McKenzie & Hannah), 8 great-grandkids (Mackenzie, Melanie, Grady, Madilyn, Keller, Caden, Koston & Emerynn), 2 special aunts (Milda & Susie), 16 revering cousins (Gerald, Fred, Kay, Max, Danny, Brian, Lloyd Jr, Connie Jo, Mark, Tim, Bruce, Shelley, Scott, Stacey, Carrie & Dori), dozens of in-laws and many close friends including life-long friend Carrie Gill Loid.
