Mitchell Wayne Manning passed away on January 12, 2020. He was a big man in life and size. He was a veteran who loved his family, his country and most of all God. Known as Mitch he never knew a stranger due to his outgoing personality and interest in other people. He worked as a durable medical equipment technician for 16 years. He loved his patients and would connect with them on a personal level. He was known in his neighborhood as the “mayor of Riverview drive“ and took great pride in knowing everyone’s business. Mitch always enjoyed taking time for leisurely activities such as smoking cigarettes, eating, shooting guns, fishing, boating and the great outdoors. He also loved stickers most of his personal belongings were riddled with them. His music was loud and filled with extra bass. He was probably the first person in Dixie County to cause a no noise ordinance to be enforced. He always made time to fiddle fart around and tinker in his work shed “ Dog house“ golf cart, scooter, boating and four wheeler activities were always pushed beyond safety recommendations/guidelines. If it was stock it was inferior, everything needed to be modified, even if it wouldn’t necessarily benefit. Mitch was a genuinely generous person with a heart of Gold. A person like him was a rare find much like a shooting star. We will miss his jokes, his smile, and his warmth. We know he is in heaven with Casey, Codey and China and they are watching over us. We will miss you Mitchipoo, until we see you again in heaven.

I have very fond memories of dear neighbor Mitch! He was a good friend and went out of his way to help keep our neighborhood safe!
