Stephen E. Davis was born to parents Harry and Ruth Davis, on October 7, 1952 in Ocala, Florida. He passed away May 14, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida. He grew up in Ocala with his brother Harry, sister Debbie and parents. He graduated from Ocala High School and went on to study at the College of Central Florida. Steve moved to Jacksonville, Florida to work for East Coast Fruit Company. This move for his career later proved fruitful as it was where he met the love of his life, Ellen. Steve made it official and married Ellen in 1998. Steve and Ellen were happily married for 21 years, and she survives him today. Steve is also survived by his children; Margaret Anderson (Tony), Katherine Harrison (Ryan), Eric Davis, Jessica Becker (David), Christopher Bell (Destin), 7 grandchildren, sister Debbie Richards (Brian), nephews and lifelong friends.
Steve enjoyed watching football (especially the Florida Gators), grilling, spending time with his family and tinkering with his car. His wife and daughters knew that asking about their last oil change or tire pressure was equivalent to an “I love you”. Summer family vacations in Daytona Beach, morning notes written on paper towels, playing catch in the backyard and jamming out to N’SYNC on Christmas morning are some of his children’s fondest memories. He will be greatly missed.
