Charlene G. Hoopes, 78, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020, of Alzheimer’s at Brookdale Southpoint. Born June 16, 1942, in Alliance, the daughter of Carson “Glen” and Thelma (Simmons) Conway. Married Donald Wayne on March 20, 1961, in Monroe. After several years of working in banking and financial business, she retired and enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. Charlene loved entertaining, playing Hand & Foot Canasta at her cabin in Georgia and traveling. Baptized into Christ December 31, 1979, and member of Christ’s Church.

What a joy it was to grow up around the Kemple family. I know Donna and I caused Charlene lots of trouble but she loved us anyway. I will miss her beautiful smile and laugh until we met again! Save a room for me Mrs Hoopes. love to all the family.
Our close friend and neighbor- Charlene and Pops – two of our very best friends. Unforgettable memories of times spent in their cabin, on the road, and here in the islands. Charlene will always be a part of our lives and we will miss her dearly.
While I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Charlene I am friends with both her daughters. Knowing what amazing women they are, I know they had a terrific role model in their mom. My deepest condolences & prayers for the family.
