Karen Lynn Deal, 62, passed away surrounded by family on September 11, 2020 in Gainesville, FL. Karen was born in Starke, FL and grew up in Waldo. She will be forever remembered for her sharp wit, her generous heart and her love for family. She was retired from the University of Florida, College of Medicine.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Teaford “Blue” Holton, mother, Juanell Strickland and brother, Rick Holton. She is survived by her husband of more than 40 years, Gary Deal, sister and best friend, Mary Sue Rister and brother Larry Holton. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored her.

We will forever miss Karen. Her infectious smile and humor was priceless. When she was around, even if you were having a bad day, she would make you laugh about something!
Rest easy, fly high, we miss you here, but know you are finally perfectly fine in every way.
Karen was a sweet lady and an amazing cook. I always enjoyed our times together at the Strickland Reunions. My heart goes out to you Gary, Mary Sue and Larry. May she be at peace with my momma Bernie sister Amanda and Aunt Juanelle in the arms of Jesus. Love you Burt Wetherington. Wayne son Geneva's grandson.
