Jack Martin Fino

Jack was born in Streling Colorado, the son of Robert and Fay Fino. He was raised in Commerce City Colorado. After graduating from Adams City High School in 1968 he was drafted into the military, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division with the Army as a Medical Corpsman. After an honorable discharge he used the funding to attend culinary school and graduated with an Associates Degree. He worked as executive chef for several fine hotels and restaurants in the Denver metropolitan area and was a private chef for SAE Fraternity at Denver University for many years. He always said that if you could learn to cook, you'd never go hungry.
Jack is survived by his wife of 21 years, Martha, stepdaughters Michele Snyder Jacoby (Carlos Lopez), Melinda Watkins(Tony), granddaughters, Jessica Jacoby, Hannah Bicksler (Daniel) , Grandson Dakota Watkins (Emily), great grandchildren Malichi and Oliver Bicksler. Sisters, Rita Solis, Virgina Ines, brothers, Robert, Dan, Ted, Tom and Joe Fino and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Jack met his wife, Martha in middle school and were classmates until graduation from high school. 30 years after graduation, he and Martha reconnected at a high school reunion in June of 1998 and were married March18, 1999. Jack loved bicycling, camping and fishing and would enjoy those whenever possible. After moving from Colorado to Gainesville, Fl. in 2006, he worked as a private chef for several University of Florida fraternities and sororities. Later he volunteered at the American Legion Post 16 as chef and was elected Post Commander and served for 2 years. All who knew Jack were inspired by his willingness to help the veterans.

I always enjoyed seeing Jack at the Legion., I volunteered several times for the First Saturday of the Month Breakfasts. He always made it fun. Serving 'BAM' (cheese) on the omelets! I will truly miss his smile!
Jack will be missed deeply. So sorry for your loss. Sending hugs and love across the miles. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We love you all so very, very much!
Mr. Jack was special to all who respected his commitment to Veterans and Post 16 of the American Legion. He led with true Professionalism, prepared food for many members and non members. People like Jack cannot be replaced, just others fill the slot. We, former Bowlers and Billiard players, have missed him, but know he is in a better place. May his Soul rest in Peace.

My Uncle Jack. He catered my wedding and each of my brothers weddings. He always gifted what he could and when he lived in Colorado, we saw him at holidays and the occasional invites to dinner and Broncos games. He came when my kids were born. He camped with us even after moving to Florida. He would come to eat, or stay but then insist on bringing the groceries…and then cooking for you! He helped me perfect cheesecakes, and green chili and “special cookies”. He was a cool guy and I loved him. I will always love him. Until, I see you again Uncle, may your next journey be blessed beyond measure. I pray God keeps you close, always. In Jesus name, Amen.
We worked with Jack at the Legion breakfasts for 5 years. We were a great team and we both have great respect for Jack and his many talents. He will be missed and our thoughts of him will remain forever. Our prayers go to all his family and friends at this time.

To my brother Jack. I love and miss you. You are the one of the brothers who could always put a smile on our face. Always there when we needed you. Tell dad mom grandma Sanchez and rodriguez and our baby brother David we will see them and you in heaven.
