Claudia Berry

November 26, 2020

Claudia Crow Segers Berry, age 70 of St. Johns, FL was welcomed into her eternal home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 26, 2020 after a long illness.

Claudia was born on September 30, 1950 in Fort Bragg, NC to Carl "Buzz" and Betty Crow. Growing up, Claudia and her sisters were fortunate enough to be raised as Army Brats. She moved many times while growing up and made many friends wherever they lived. Claudia graduated from Carroll High School in Ozark, Alabama and went on to graduate from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. She returned to college to obtain her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida State University. Claudia was very devoted to her patients during her long career as a social worker and therapist.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Claudia also loved to read, especially her Bible, and long talks with her friends that always resulted in loud laughter. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she joyfully shared with those who surrounded her. Claudia was always the first person to offer to pray with you and for you.

Claudia joins her father Buzz, daughter Kara Segers, and Papa John Mimbs in Heaven. We are comforted knowing this was a most joyous reunion. Claudia is survived by her loving husband Richard Berry; two sons Jake (Erica) Segers of Jacksonville and Mason Segers of Jacksonville; three daughters, Lisa (Taw) North of Oviedo, Jenny Berry and Sophie Berry of St. Augustine; grandchildren Parker and Dylan North of Oviedo, Liam and Kara Segers of Jacksonville, Isabella Segers of Fortaleza, BR; mother Betty Crow of Jacksonville; sister Jackie (Bill) Hardy of Jacksonville and Debbie (Bob) Mailey of Jacksonville; and many nieces and nephews.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16(NIV) We take great comfort in knowing that we will see Claudia again.

  1. Claudia was so special to so many people. She helped many to cope with life when they were at their wits end  She never wanted it known or proclaimed, but great will be her reward in heaven. She was like a mentor to me and we were extremely close friends. I loved her so much.  I have missed being able to be with her these last few years but we talked a lot. She loved you, Rich. She loved her children Sophie, Jake, Mason, Lisa and Jenny.  She always enjoyed being with her mom, Betty and her sisters Jackie and Debbie. We grieve with you. Much love sent your way.

  2. We were shocked and sadden to hear the news. I will miss not running into Claudia in Publix, seeing her happy face, and being filled with warmth and happiness. Rich, my thoughts are with your whole family and I am so glad you found each other.
