Always helping his wife Jamie up at the high school to make things better for her students. My condolences to the family.

It is saddening to learn of David's passing. David and I had a common bond by both of us having worked for the Southern Railroad and then making career changes–becoming teachers and assistant principals. I always enjoyed talking with him–sharing our experiences. Jamie, you and the Akin family, are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP David.

So sorry to learn of David's passing. He was such a fine man. I was fortunate to have worked with him as a co-assistant principal where I learned of his day in & day out sincere moral & ethical character. We hold you all in our hearts & prayers.
I am retired from Sonny Carter where David was the assistant principal before his retirement. He was such a joy to work for. I know he loved animals and he would not even let us kill a bug, but would carry it outside to release it. I am so shocked and saddened by his sudden passing. My sympathy goes to his family. I foster dogs for a rescue and will make a donation in his name.
Not a day will go by that I will not think of you and cherish and miss you my brother.
What a difference you made in the many lives you touched.
