RIchard, (Dick) was a kind and generous and fun guy to be around. We are proud to have been his friend of 50 years. Many good memories… from visiting his Deland home over a holiday break from Eastern Illinois University, lending a hand in moving me to my first apartment in St. Louis where we both resided at the time, attending the auspicious St. Louis Symphony Concert at the Munie Opera with Leonard Bernstein conducting as four of us yelled in unison for an encore of "Candid Overture" in which Bernstein turned around, peering into the crowd with his hand shading his eyes, then turned back around and gave the thumbs up to actually play "Candid Overture" as the encore. Richard will be missed.
I am sorry to hear about the loss of Richard and wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Walking by Steve's front porch on a Sunday won't be the same without Richard being there as part of the ensemble. I offer you my thoughts, prayers and well-wishes during this difficult time.
