Theresa “Terry” Clark, a retired nurse and resident of Gainesville, Fl, died after a courageous battle with liver cancer on July 5, 2021 at the age 72, peacefully at home with her devoted husband and daughter at her side.
Terry was born on March 24, 1949 in Syracuse, NY. As a child, her fondest memories were the summers she spent at her Uncle Raymond’s farm climbing trees and chasing lightening bugs. She graduated from nursing school in 1980 and started her career at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse then continued working as a nurse at Shand’s Hospital until retiring in 2011, after 30
years of service. On November 27, 1982, she married Bob, her best friend and shared 38 years with him making the most of every day. They moved to Gainesville, FL in 1981, built a house where they hosted countless family gatherings and celebrations, traveled to Alaska and Italy and spent much of their time together helping others.
Terry was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and was the most loyal friend you could have. She loved to cook, clean and reorganize the furniture, often pausing to watch an episode of The Great British Baking Show or Doc Martin on Netflix. Terry loved to sing and was a member of the church choir and while in Italy sang in the Vatican. Autumn and the holidays were her favorite time of the year, decorating the house for Halloween and Christmas was a must. She had an infectious laugh that would fill a room and made friends wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
