Patrick Marvin “Duke” McCoy, 67, of Glens Falls, New York passed away on January 1, 2022, in his Ocala, Florida home.
Duke was born in Glens Falls, New York to Myron Edward and Lila Jean (Stark) McCoy on December 28, 1954. He married Kathie Louise Williams of Floral City, Florida on July 1, 1978, in Castleton, Vermont. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the submarine tender USS Fulton from 1972 to 1974 in/around the Mediterranean Sea. He then served four years in the U.S. Navy Reserves before being honorably discharged. He worked as a carpenter for most of his adult life. He was involved in the Jury Motorcycle Club of Hudson Falls, New York; Little League of Leicester, Vermont; and countless acts of charity, home remodeling, and animal husbandry while raising his children with his wife, Kathie, first in Vermont then in Missouri. He and Kathie moved from Missouri to Florida as retirees in 2015, near the town where they first met 38 years earlier. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, known for his few words, hard work, and Louis Armstrong singing voice.
Duke is preceded in death by his parents Myron “Mac” and Lila McCoy of Glens Falls, New York; his sister Deborah McCoy of Glens Falls, New York; and his grandchildren Austyn “Sissy” Vanvig and Hadyn McCoy both of Springfield, Missouri.
