Tommy R, Whisnant, 72, of Live Oak, FL died at Malcom H Randall VA Hospital, Gainesville, FL on June 19, 2022.

Mr. Whisnant was born June 11, 1950 in Tifton, GA to Adam C. and Emma L. (Derden) Whisnant. He married Diana L. Burkhardt in 1982 in Carlyle, IL.

Mr. Whisnant is survived by his wife, Diana. Sons Wayne A (Natasha) Whisnant, Scott A. Whisnant, and fur baby Alex. His grandchildren Jasmin Strattman and Carson Meeks. In-laws Barbara (Gerry) Romack, Linda Manhart, Ruth Ann (George) Atchinson, and Michael Burkhardt. A host of nieces and nephews. Special niece Angela Manhart, great niece Alexis Hutchinson, and his caretaker Lashawn Claridy. His sister in law Annette Burkhardt,brother in law Louis Burkhardt, and his sister Nancy Franks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law Wayne A. Burkhardt and Mary E. Burkhardt, brother-in-laws William T. Burkhardt, David A. Burkhardt, Sonny Franks and sister-in-law Mary K. Bolton. His brothers William Whisnant, Henry Whisnant, John Whisnant and Randall Whisnant

After his career in the Army, he started a cypress furniture business. Mr. Whisnant Enjoyed NASCAR and spending time with friends and loved ones.

I know you are not in any more pain.but our pain is now worse. Alex keeps running to pur room looking for you. His hair color hasn't come back. There has been 2 butterflies in the yard . I told Alex see there is dad he took off to the front yard looking for you! I love you so much. Just keep an eye on us down here. Love you my baby!
