Charles Hoff

August 25, 2022

Charles “Corky” Albert Hoff, born September 30, 1941 and departed this life August 25th, 2022.

He was born in Miami, Florida to the late Albert L. Hoff Sr. and Marguerite Hovey Hoff.

Corky served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. After the war, he became a heavy equipment operator which he continued to do most of his life until retiring in 2008.

He lived in South Florida until moving to Ocala in 1991. He fulfilled his lifelong dream of being a rancher in Ocala and was thankful for every moment here and all of his wonderful friends.

He loved working with his hands & physically building a life he was proud of. He was happiest when he was watching NASCAR, out on his ranch tending to his animals, tinkering with whatever, and listening to country music. He especially loved “Funny Face” by Donna Fargo.

Corky was an excellent horseman. Throughout his life he competed in many horse shows. Later in life he participated in cowboy mounted shooting. He loved having all his animals around him and this was evident in the way he cared for them.

He was always smiling & enjoyed making people laugh. He always lent a helping hand to anyone in need and always extended a helping hand to anyone who asked. He was kindhearted & had a positive nature.

Andi bought her first horse from Corky’s best friend when she was 13 and he was 15. Later in life they reconnected and were married for 48 amazing years.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Andrea “Andi” LaBoursoliere Hoff, daughter Trish Bolton-Hoff (Pam), brother Albert Hoff, sisters Peggy Burns (Jimmy), Sherry Hoff (Angela), Dawn Gruzdas (Bill), preceded in death by Lutea Wright, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

  1. My heart goes out to Andi, Trish, and the rest of Corky's family and friends. Corky loved his family and his farm. He was a great friend and neighbor who always was quick-witted and sharing laughter with those around him.
Corky was there in a heartbeat whether I needed him to hold the ladder so I could clean the gutter or to look at my tractor battery. He was always upbeat and a very kind person.
Corky was a dedicated husband and father to his family. He was also an amazing horseman who loved working on his farm with his horses, cows, and other fur babies. He liked tinkering with his tractors, mowing, and keeping up with the farm. Corky was also a very good friend and neighbor who I will miss very much.
I pray for peace and comfort for Andi, Trish, and for the rest of Corky's family and friends. Corky was one of a kind and the fond memories of him will be cherished.

  2. I don't believe I ever saw anything but a funny little smile on Corky's face which made you wonder — but somehow you knew it was an inner happiness and joy of a life full. Love to Andi and Trish

  3. Uncle Corky—-you were always a joy to be around with. You made me laugh with your wit and infectious smile. I am so glad that I saw you again last May. Peace be with you and your family. I love you! Jeanne (nee Williams)

  4. My condolences, Andy. From my childhood to now, I feel privileged to have known him.  Corky was one of the best people I ever met and I loved him.

  5. Andi,
We are so sorry to hear about Corky.
He’s no longer suffering and is looking down on us from Heaven.
    Love, Loretta & Jack
