August F Breitinger passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 3, 2022 shortly after his 93rd Birthday. He was born in Schopfloch, Germany to August and Lena (Sindel) Breitinger and grew up in Springfield Gardens, New York. Gus was a knitting mechanic and quietly achieved much in his life including serving in the Korean War, owning a business in New York’s garment district and 2 patents. He was a sailor, avid tennis player and a bowler. Gus is beloved father of Pete (Sharon) Breitinger of Gainesville, dear brother of Margaret Russelmann of Hamilton, Texas and Wilma Peterson of Pembroke Pines, and loving grandfather to Christie (Alex) Hinkle and Kyle (Jen) Breitinger. He also leaves a Great granddaughter, 4 nieces and their families.
