Carolie M (James) Wilbur, age 93, formerly of Binghamton, NY, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. She passed away peacefully at the nursing home where she resided, in Gainesville, Florida. Carolie was a long time resident of upstate NY and a frequent resident of Florida where she lived for the last 9 years.
Carolie was born on August 20th, 1929. She worked at Cornell University, while she was raising her children. She enjoyed spending time with all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even lending her time to help raise her grandchildren. She loved to bake them her famous chocolate chip cookies and crocheted many, many baby blankets and even blankets for the older kids.
Carolie was predeceased by her husband Earl Dewey Wilbur, her son, Wayne Russell, her Daughter, Marie Wilbur Van Matre, and a couple of grandchildren and a couple of great grandchildren, her parents, Ralph Bernard Sr. and Eva May (Lamphere) James, her brothers Eddie James, Bob James, Ralph James, Bill James, her twin sister, Rosalie Wilbur, and her younger sister Arlene Pritchard.
Carolie was survived by her children, Bruce and Kathy Russell, Wanda Wright, Linda Russell, Gary Wilbur, Michael and Brenda Wilbur, Dewey and Heather Wilbur, 25 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren (and counting), and at this moment, 6 great, great grandchildren.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on December 3rd at the church that she loved so dearly.
