Robert "Bob" Jay Lonsinger

August 4, 1936 ~ November 22, 2022

Robert (Bob) Jay Lonsinger, age 86, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on November 22, 2022. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 4, 1936, to Oscar and Pauline (Krause) Lonsinger.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy (Howard) and children Cindy (Joel) Wasserbauer, Adam (Sharon Rung) and grandchildren Samantha and Max Lonsinger. Bob was an only child but enjoyed the company of his many cousins while growing up on the family farm in Avon, Ohio. He served his country in the United States Army for two years as an Expert Marksman and Sharpshooter, and later in the Reserves until 1962.  Bob and Nancy met as pen pals while Bob was stationed in Hawaii.  Bob was a dedicated family man, who took painstaking measures to instill the values of handwork, integrity, and loyalty into his children.  A retired Ironworker, with Union Local 17 in Cleveland, Ohio with over 55 years of dedicated service, Bob was a well-respected foreman whose unique skill set was in great demand across the Midwest and was responsible for leaving grand structures (skyscrapers, bridges, stadiums, etc.) that will far outlive us all. Bob was also a 32nd degree Free Mason in the Northern Jurisdiction Valley of Cleveland since 1967. When Nancy retired, she and Bob became snowbirds between Marblehead, Ohio and Sun City Center, Florida.  Their final move was to Jacksonville, to be closer to their daughter. Bob was an animal lover and a great outdoorsman who enjoyed boating and fishing between the waters of Lake Erie and Tampa Bay with his many fishing buddies. Two of Bobs closest fishing buddies, Eugene Griesbach and David Swagel are deceased.  Bob was a wonderful husband and father.  He will be remembered for his smile, laughter, love, humor, and an uncanny ability to remember every word to every song on the radio.

Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Lonsinger family.
