"Ty" Walker's Life Celebration
We are sad to announce the passing of William Tyrus Walker of Ocala FL. Ty went home to be with Jesus at 74 years young on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022. Ty was surrounded by his loved ones the weeks prior to his death after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Ty was born to Neill and Sue Sue(Fort) Walker on February 28th, 1948. He spent his youth growing up on farms and ranches throughout Texas and New Mexico, getting into trouble with his cousins. Ty earned his Bachelor's of Science from Eastern New Mexico University and his Master’s at Liberty University in Counseling. He retired from New Mexico Military Institute during the 2020 Covid Pandemic. He taught and mentored thousands of students throughout his career.
He was a loving partner to Kim, father to Deven and William Brent Walker, grandfather to Van, brother to Jill Harlow and Gary, and friend to all. His passion and integrity for those he loved was unwavering. His infectious smile and laugh will live on forever. Ty loved barbequing, cooking, and entertaining surrounded by his friends and family. He was a counselor, cowboy, bull rider, roper, golfer, and hunter. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran with the US Navy where he served his country with pride. Ty battled cancer for over 5 years after being given less than a year upon initial diagnosis. Yet he knew and appreciated that he was blessed with 4 “bonus” years seeing his Grandson, Van Walker Andrus be born to his daughter Deven Renee and Brandon Andrus. He was honored to attend his son, William Brent Walkers' wedding to Rachel Montoni. After being diagnosed with cancer and getting a second chance at life he spent it helping his partner battle her own cancer, any extra time was spent golfing with friends and working on a horse ranch helping others. After complications from a thoracentesis, his cancer was left to spread unchecked. There are no events planned, as Ty did not wish to have services as he was able to celebrate with family and friends in person before his passing.
