Leydon grew up in Spanish Town, Jamaica, where he graduated from St. Jago High School. He was an active sportsman from early on. In high school Leydon gained a reputation as a star "footballer" (soccer player) and remained a lifelong fan of the sport, coaching boys and girls soccer teams in the US and watching the World Cup to the end of his life.
Leydon attended Morgan State Univ in Baltimore, graduating with a degree in accounting and then earned his MBA degree at Atlanta Univ. He played soccer at both Universities. He worked with Chase Bank in Jamaica, Carborundum in Niagara Falls and later for the IRS until he retired, after which he and his wife Arlene traveled to many countries and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels and soup kitchens. He was a member of the Friendship Force International organization.
He was a gentleman with a gentle manner, a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend. Leydon leaves behind his wife Arlene, sisters Dorothea and Madge, younger brother Noel and sister-in-law Dorothy, as well as niece's and nephews.

So long my friend. We've had a great run and I will miss your friendship.
Dear Basil,
When I was informed that Leydon had left us I was compelled to recall the times we played soccer in our early years.. Also, I began to reflect on how fragile we are as we age.
I recall some years ago in Toronto when I said to him," we should have gone to England to play for one of the club's." He replied, "I wouldn't make it, you would". How humble can you be! If you were looking for good company you wouldn't go wrong choosing him as a friend.
Regrettably, he has left us too early for the unknown. However, he will be remembered by those whose lives he has touched.
May he rest in peace. Jack

Lee will be missed, but will always be in our hearts. He was a very gentle person and will not be forgotten. Our prayers go out to Arlene and the family. RIP
Lee was always ready tor church on Sunday in his dress shirt and tie,
Always eats with his knife and fork,
Always with his napkin.
To everything there is a season.
A time to be born and a time to die,
A time to weep and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
You are home now.
Rest in Peace.
