Sharmon Stephens Futch, age 54, of Ray City, Georgia died Tuesday, March 14, 2023. The Branford, Florida native lived in Ray City for the past 5 years.
She is predeceased by her husband, Bouie Franklin Futch, father Sheard Eugene Stephens, and granddaughter Chandler Whitfield.
Sharmon is survived by: daughters Kayla Stephens Whitfield (Jonathan) of Ray City and Jasmine Stephens of Bell; mother Martha Stephens of Lakeland, Georgia; sister Tammy Reed (Jim) of Chamblee, Georgia; brother Tommy Stephens of Jacksonville, Florida, sister Mimi Stephens of Jacksonville, Florida; brother Randell Stephens of Lake City, Florida; three grandsons: Jaiden and Kaiden Whitfield of Ray City, Georgia and Layton Rhodes of Bell, Florida; best friend Georgia Scholz (Dave) of Jacksonville, Florida. She leaves behind a host of close nephews and nieces who cherished her as their Bonus Mom; Brian and Nicki Martin of O'Brien, Brittany and Erin Dolan of Chesapeake, Virginia, Dustin and Danielle Stephens of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Buddy Stephens of Jacksonville, Tatyana Stephens of Montclair, California, and Megan Roberts Vanzile of O'Brien. Her generosity, opinionated impatience, matter-of-fact counsel, and humor will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
At Sharmon’s request, “There will be no funeral or memorial service. Don’t send a bunch of expensive flowers just to watch them die, too. Donate to your local Humane Society and save a helpless animal.”
