Maureen Shirley Cate, 86, of Middleburg, FL passed away April 17, 2023.
Maureen “Nana” left earth to go to her forever home in heaven with 2 of her six children. She was the best Mom & Nana in the world to her 6 children, 3 sons-in-law, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-granddaughters.Maureen will be missed by her children Lisa, Laura, Thomas, Linda, Timothy, Lynn; sons-in-law Hernando, William and Nino; grandchildren Ryan, Ashley, Alexandra, Inaldis, Raul, and Alexander; and her great-granddaughters whom she had the pleasure of meeting and creating great memories with: Liya, Kali, Laura, and Skylar.We all know that she is in a much better place, however life will NEVER be the same without her. When she left us she took a piece of each of our hearts with her. We love her forever and we will always remember the sunshine she brought to any room she was in.We love and miss you Mom/Nana!!!

Maureen was a very sweet lady and she loved my dogs. She always wanted me to bring them over when she sat on her daughter’s driveway. We are so sorry for the family she left behind ❤️
Rest Mom , you were always the best momma of six children, always giving and keeping up with church, sports for all of us, birthdays, holidays and vacations. RIP. ✝️

Bob and I knew Maureen for a short time after we moved to Fort Myers. She would sit by her window and wave to us every day. She was so cute and sweet. May God hold her in the palm of his hand.
You are loved and missed by so many! Wish we could’ve had more time together. Through our short period of time together, all I have are great memories and will always remember your infectious smile. Rest easy.

My sweet angel , nana. Not even sure where to begin . I still can’t believe what is going on . So much evil in this world living and breathing and just an angel taken from us . I will continue to make you proud. Thank you for giving up so much of your life to raise me even when I wasn’t the easiest youngster to raise . So much of my strengths come from you. I wish I could’ve had a final talk with you and heard your voice one more time . I wish I could hear your laugh one more time and have you remind me of how proud your are of me given my obstacles I faced growing up . I love you so much always and forever and nothing or no one will ever change that .

My dearest Mom ✝️ You were the Best Mom anyone could ask for. Six children well taken care of all by yourself. You kept us busy with the baseball park and whatever else we were interested in. Good strong Catholic upbringing 🙏🏻 Our journey the past 7 months have been a reward I will hold onto ‘til we meet again. With the help of your nurses, we had many laughs and memories we will continue to share. I’m thankful to be at your side until you received your Wings 🕊️
