Robert Carpenter Russell

July 20, 1971 ~ May 2, 2023

Robert Carpenter Russell, age 51, residing in Gainesville, FL, passed away suddenly on May 2, 2023.  Born on July 20, 1971 in Illinois .  Adopted by his parents Kenneth W. Russell and Linda R. (Eklund) Russell and raised in Sycamore, IL. 

Rob was a standout in baseball and football at Sycamore High School.  Rob moved to Florida after high school and had two wonderful girls, Ashley Gallant Russell and Andrea Gallant Russell.  Rob enjoyed fishing, softball, working with his hands, and anything else that was fun and included other people. 

Rob is survived by his daughters Ashley Gallant-Russell and Andrea Gallant-Russell of Gainesville FL, His brother David (Vicki) Russell of Hampshire, IL, Kristie Russell of Sycamore, Two nephews, Christian and Jacob, and two nieces, Elizabeth and Mia. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Rob will be cremated and will take his final rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Sycamore, IL alongside his mother and grandparents.

  4. I met a Robert at Lowe’s. I was getting a sales pitch for putting a floor in my kitchen and he offered to do it instead. Ever since, I have called him for help or he has called me for help. Most recently, he completely tore down the fence at Art alley studio, reconfigured it and put it back up. He was a tireless worker, friendly and always accompanied by his 4 legged companion. I’m so sorry he is gone.

    Still shocked and saddened to learn of your passing. You will truly be missed.
