John Richard Woodard Sr.

May 23, 2023

On Tuesday May 23, 2023, John Richard Woodard Sr. 75 went home to be with his Lord.

Born to Louisa and David Woodard of Bushnell Florida on May 9, 1948. He worked with Dixie Lime and Stone as a heavy machine operator. He later became a police officer and corrections officer serving his community until he retired.

He loved spending time on the water in his pontoon boat with his family and friends. When he wasn’t on the water, he was watching westerns on his TV. John enjoyed being outside working in the yard or fixing up an old Ford. He loved spending time with his great grand kids and telling them stories. Snipe hunting was his favorite thing to do with his children and grandchildren at Camp Blanding.

John is survived by his four children, Denise Vandergriff of Clarkesville, Georgia, John Woodard, Jr. of Lake Butler, Florida, Stephen Woodard of Bushnell, Florida and Celina Woodard of Bushnell, Florida. Grandchildren, Dustin Vandergriff and Angel Woodard, both of Georgia, Kari Woodard, John Woodard, Diamond Woodard, Patrick Woodard, Amber Wilson, Summer Wilson, Michaela Wilson, all of Florida. Stepchildren, Jason and Julie Michael of Starke, Florida, step grandchildren, Jessie Koenig, TJ Carter, Tony Carter, Jarrett Michael, Jason Michael, Jr. and Kelsie DeWitt.

“Richard” is now with his life partner, Debbie Lumley, in heaven boating on that rainbow river with a drink and doing something funny to make Debbie laugh. Fly high till we meet again. Love you both.
