A Celebration of Edward Austin Conklin’s Wondrous Life
Today, we gather to celebrate the extraordinary life of Ed, a husband to Rosie, a loving father to Chris Conklin and his wife Jaime, a dutiful grandfather to 17 yr old Peyton and 14 yr old Landon, a loveable brother to Lynne LoCascio, an inspiring uncle that’s nicknamed Uncle Slash and many cousins a Navy veteran, biker, friendly, positive, loveable, joyous, easygoing, and laid-back individual who has left an indelible mark in the hearts of his family and friends. Ed lived his life to the fullest, and it is no wonder that many loved and cherished him.
It is difficult, to sum up Ed's wondrous life in just a few words. However, when you think of Ed, you cannot help but be struck by his infectious personality. He was a man who filled any room with joy and positivity.
Being a Navy veteran, Ed had seen the world and had many stories to tell. His experiences made him a natural storyteller. Whenever you talked with him, you felt like you were being transported into a different time and place. His stories were always engaging, filled with fascinating experiences and lessons to be learned.
Ed’s stories also consisted of jobs starting back when he was ten years old, working on the docks of a boat rental business growing up, then transitioning to the post office after being in the military, he retired from the post office. He also held a short term as a professional lock picker with AAA auto services and held a position with his brother’s carpet cleaning company with RR Conklin Carpet.
For Ed, his love of motorcycles was more than just a hobby; it was a way of life. His nickname was Lil’ Ed, and he loved nothing more than hitting the open road and feeling the wind in his hair. Ed and his biker friends were like family to him. They were his riding buddies and confidants.
The thing that everyone who knew Ed would say about him was that he was a genuinely friendly individual. He made friends easily, and his friendly nature meant that he had a network of friends from all walks of life. He had a gift of making people feel welcomed and valued.
Ed's positive attitude and loveable personality meant that he was a joy to be around. He radiated happiness and contentment, and his smile was infectious. You could not help but feel better when you were around him.
Ed led an easygoing and laid-back lifestyle. He took life as it came and did not get bogged down by the little things. He was the kind of person who did not sweat the small stuff and always looked at the bright side. This outlook made him such a positive influence on those around him.
