Wanda Wiggins went home to be with Jesus on Monday, August 7th, 2023. She was born in Chattanooga, TN on September 11th, 1945 to Thomas A. Hamrick and Foye Davis Hamrick. She had two wonderful younger sisters, Rita Hamrick Lowrance (Cleveland, TN) and Gloria Hamrick White (Oglethorpe, GA). Laughter, stories, and good times abounded when the three gathered together during holidays.
Adventuresome by nature, Wanda worked as an Easter Airlines flight attendant in the sixties. According to several reliable sources, she was the the best model Eastern ever had for their uniforms. While working out of the Atlanta hub, she met the man of her dreams, Dennis Wiggins. The two were married on January 22, 1966. Fifty seven years later their legacy of love is inspiring to all.
To know Wanda is to know her solid rock is Jesus - but her husband Dennis was her rock as well. With his quiet confidence coupled with steadfast love and support, Wanda knew she could do anything - and she just about did! Her moxie was almost tangible as she popped wheelies on dirt bikes, traveled to Israel multiple times with her three dear friends, and rode competitively in dressage.
In 2016, she was one of the few distinguished individuals to ride the “Century Ride” in Dressage competition. She rode her beloved Danish Warmblood Dusine in the ride is where the horse’s age and rider’s age combined add to 100 years. She was recognized with the Century Club Team Award by the Dressage Foundation for this accomplishment.
Wanda and Dennis raised two amazing children. Kimberly Matlack (Tom) and Mark Wiggins (Leigh). Her children gave her four handsome and talented grandsons that she cherished. Jacob Larche of MA (Kim); Austin, Aaron, and Aslan Wiggins of GA (Mark).
Wanda blessed us all with her tenacity and zeal for life, an infectious smile, and courageous attitude through all things. Her closest friends and family knew Wanda as their personal cheerleader and a fierce warrior.
Grit and determination was wrapped in a beautiful package of grace and beauty, known to us as Nana. She showed us all how to be overcomers. She crushed cancer four times, survived a heart attack and a stroke, and went through numerous surgeries. Through all her battles she demonstrated to us how to live with joyful abandonment, strap on Ephesian 6 armor, and run the race with endurance. When asked “why her”, she candidly responded, “Why not me?” Her health battles did not define Wanda, but her response to those battles did.
Wanda never gave her struggles any quarter. She used her experiences as opportunities to help others navigate through their challenges. Throughout her life she donated her time and support to various organizations. Examples are intercessory prayer through the End-Time Handmaidens, ministering to hospitalized cancer patients as an ordained minister, and through her church where she and Dennis helped create a Biblical Israeli Garden for others to enjoy.
She also gave us examples of how you can achieve personal and professional accolades through hard work and dedication. Notably a few of these included: highest grossing loan officer in Jacksonville, President of the North Florida Dressage Assoc. (NFDA), and Vice President of the End-Time HandMaidens.
Her encouragement, fearless spirit, and faith will remain in our hearts as she continues to be an inspiration to us- until we are together again with Jesus.
In lieu of flowers or donations… please take the time to be with someone you love and share the love of Christ with someone.
Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Wiggins family.

Wanda was an amazing intercessor, whom I met in the prayer room at New Life. She had an amazing smile and was tenacious as well as tender. Praying God’s comfort for her family.

Praying for Mark, Leigh, Austin, Aaron, and Aslan. I am blessed to have spent just a little time with this family but they were clearly amazing and after reading of Mrs. Wiggins it is clear she made a big impact in her children’s lives and it shows in their spouses and children. May the Lord be close to you all during this difficult time. 413

I was so saddened to hear of Wanda’s passing. She was such a strong courageous woman who always made one feel extra special. Her positive outlook and kind heart complimented her sweet, generous personality. Prayers to her family.
Wanda had her first breast cancer just before I did. Her positive and hopeful attitude helped me get through my own ordeal.
I am also grateful for the beautiful pony Sahaar that Wanda named , that my daughter and I own and still ride . Sahaar is a great pony that was bred from Wanda’s first mare..
Wanda was a wonderful lady and it was a privilege to know her.
What a very special woman to inspire so many and live Gods Word daily. Thank you God for sharing Wanda with us and allowing her to hé a part of our lives. What memories….
Wanda, Thank you for loving me well. You held the line for myself, others, and yourself many of times in the place of prayer. You were amazing in the office of teacher and intercessor during a ladies Bible study I was in that you led. We had always talked of trail riding together someday or even just letting me hug your horse since they melt my heart. Now we will ride together someday alongside Jesus. Thank you for sowing your time and heart into my life. I'm forever grateful for you. You knew keys on how to steward your life wisely for the Lord, and now you get to crown Him with many crowns! Love you xo
You will be missed! Thank you for your loving kindness & generosity you displayed to us and our group (SOS,WW, OOP).
We were so blessed to have you in our lives.
We look forward to seeing you in the soon coming Kingdom of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. It is in Him we are guaranteed eternal life with you & all our loved ones. See you then & there, my dear friend.🏆😇🌟🫶🏼✨️👑☝🏼💫
