James William Skipper, Jr (Bill) of Gainesville, Florida passed away on October 4th, 2023 at the age of 82. He is survived by his daughter's Shana Skipper and Courtnay Skipper, and his sister, Sylvia Harper. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lea Skipper and brother Terry Skipper.
Bill graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor of science degree in Criminology. He dedicated 35 years of his life working in the mental health field as a case manager at Meridian Health Care. Bill loved animals, spending time at the beach, and Florida State football! He also attended Trinity United Methodist Church for over 20 years. His dedication, love, compassion, and kindness for friends and family will be greatly missed by all.
As the March of Dimes funded Bill’s polio care as a child, the family requests donations to the March of Dimes in lieu of flowers.

My deepest sympathies to you and your sister
Courtney & Shana,
I had the good fortune to work with your Dad many years ago in the mental health field. He was always kind and helpful; a friend. He will be missed but hold him forever in peace, love and light.
Courtnay & Shana,
My heart goes out to both of you during this difficult time.
I had the privilege of meeting your dad via Skype during one of Courtnay’s many lunchtime Skype sessions from her classroom while we were in China together. It was always heartwarming to hear their loving and supportive banter.
You will always have him close, may you always feel his love and support as he watches over you both.
I’m at a loss of words for you and your family. I always knew your father as a wonderful man who had nothing but light in his soul. Accepting of all, and supporting anyone he came in contact with. The family is in my thoughts and prayers as my heart goes out to you.
