In Loving Memory of Sandra “Sandy”Knisely
Sandra Jean (Kitchen) Knisely, fondly known as Sandy, peacefully passed away in her home in Gainesville, Florida, on December 8, 2023 at the age of 69. She was born on December 5, 1954, in Lima, Ohio, and grew up on a farm in Bourbon, Indiana.
Sandy attended Triton High School, where she was an active member of the marching band and participated in chorus showcasing her passion for singing. Throughout her life, she took joy in raising her three beloved sons and cheering them on at their various sporting events. Her presence was a source of encouragement and support.
An enthusiast for camaraderie with family and friends through laughter and shared activities, Sandy participated in a weekly bowling league with friends for many years in Warsaw. She cherished the companionship of her dogs, especially her first Shih Tzu, Suki, her loyal chocolate lab, Stanley, and her Shih Tzu that was always by her side the last 10 years, Walter.
Sandy had a love for music that she shared with her sisters, Sharon Repovg and Janet Simpson, both of Indianapolis. They spent precious moments singing together at different events and churches. Sandy also found comfort and community in her places of worship as a member of St Anne’s Episcopal Church in Warsaw, IN and St Boniface Episcopal Church in Siesta Key, FL.
Professionally, Sandy was a successful business owner, managing her own transcription business that catered to medical and legal professionals.
She was preceded in death by her father Leonard Kitchen, her mother Betty Johnston and her step dad Carl Johnston of Burbon Indiana. Sandy is survived by her devoted husband, Tom Knisely, and her sons, Eric, Luke, and Alex, all residing in Gainesville, FL. She leaves a lasting legacy through her daughter-in-law Lindy Knisely (married to Eric) and grandchildren Ayla and Eliot, as well as daughter-in-law Chelsea Knisely (married to Alex) and grandchildren Ian and Noah.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will take place this summer with family and friends at Goose Lake in Warsaw, Indiana. Her memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives she touched. May her soul rest in peace.
