He began working at Kmart in 1993 and met his future wife Renee in 1995 and were married April 24, 1999. Shawn began his life long career in April 1998 with Duval Honda working in the parts department and eventually becoming the parts manager. He was affectionately known by coworkers as Big Daddy.

Shawn was a very devoted father and enjoyed supporting and helping Kyle throughout the years with his sports, never missing any of Kyle’s sporting events. He was also an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He loved his Dawgs! As much as he loved football, he also enjoyed watching basketball and golf. His music of choice was 80s rock bands like Van Halen and Cinderella. Shawn had a heart of gold and would always lend a helping hand.

The one thing that made Shawn happiest was his son Kyle. He was so proud; Kyle was his world.

Shawn was always the jokester and would always make you smile. Go Rest High on the Mountain Shawn! We will see you in heaven one day. Until then we all love you here on earth.

  1. Our thoughts are with you and Kyle during this difficult time. We hope all of the good memories you have of him will give you strength in the coming days.

  2. Was very sad to hear about Big Daddy’s passing. He was such a great coworker and was always cracking jokes to make people laugh. I’m glad I was able to meet him and work with him for quite a few years. You will definitely be missed Shawn aka Big Daddy from Honda. Rest in paradise buddy!

  3. I worked with Shawn at Duval Honda for a long time. Shawn was always making people laugh. I will miss that.  Shawn used to come to all the Service advisors  offices and come in very quietly and smack the back of our chairs really hard and scare us and make us jump out of our seats. Thank you for all the great times we all had together. We’re at Duval Honda.  My prayers go out to the family. Rest in peace Big daddy I will miss you.

  4. Shawn! The few years I was blessed to have known you where some of the best years I have ever had in my entire career! You took a young family in as your neighbors with no idea on how to be homeowners and just stepped up and supported all the way! My family and I loved coming over for one of the best hamburgers I have ever had!!
Renee, you and Johnny made us feel a part of the family all the time and stood by us during some hard times!!   I don’t understand why we never get to say hello and goodbye with new technology that should connect us more but I am sorry I never made that reach!! God bless you Shawn and your family!!  See you in Valhalla my friend!!

  5. So sorry to hear about Shawn's passing. Was his neighbor across the street on crystal springs growing up and loved talking to him them about his mini truck and he always talked about my Honda. Funny that we both ended up working for Honda/Acura at some point. He was a great guy and will be missed. Rest easy my friend.

  6. Such an awesome person to have known.
Many great memories and lessons taught.
My prayers for your family for strength and healing.

  7. I am so very sorry for your loss . Our deepest sympathy goes out to you Renee & Kyle . Shawn was everything you mentioned ,a wonderful person with a caring heart , great sense of humor , wonder father to Kyle & would share all of his achievements when he visited me for his haircut, he was so proud .  Kyle and his Dad would get haircuts & then they’d go to the burrito gallery after. Shawn would tell me that Kyle was going to school to be an anesthesiologist and said you never know Vicky .. he may be monitoring your heart/vitals one day . Shawn  always looked out for me when I had my Honda accord he even swept his own hair up after his service . 😢
    I named Shawn…”Google Shawn!! “ he’d find the answer !
“You will be missed immensely & our heart & prayers go out to all the family & friends who knew & loved Shawn aka big Daddy xxx RIP My friend xx🙏🏻
