J. Guadalupe (Lupe) Ortiz Ruiz, 74, passed away on April 24, 2024. He was born on December 27, 1949, in Tabasco, Zacatecas, Mexico to Maria Ruiz and Joaquin Ortiz.
He had a knack for humor, pulling pranks and spreading laughter whenever he could. He made sure to bring smiles to everyone's faces, even during his toughest battles. His spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear.
Lupe is survived by his spouse Terri (Cherry) Ortiz, daughter Amanda Rivera (Angel), and his beloved grandchildren, Ariana, Marcel, Luciano, and Luka. He is also survived by his sisters, Teresa, Concepcion, Carmela, Margarita, Catalina, and Rosario, and his brothers Martin and Fransisco. Lupe was uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews; however Josephine, Catherine, and David held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maria and Joaquin, and his brothers Refugio and Joaquin.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in Chicago, IL, at a later date, allowing family and friends to come together and honor his memory.

My prayers and condolences go out to family and friends. He was a joy to be around and fun at family get togethers in Chicago. I have fond memories of him. God bless him and welcome him home.
