Vincent A. (Vince) Gargiulo
1946 - 2024

Vincent A. Gargiulo, lovingly known as Vince, age 78, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Vince was born in Brooklyn, New York, and was the cherished son of the late Nicholas and Marie (Cutrona) Gargiulo. His life journey brought him to Gainesville, where he became an integral part of the community.

Vince proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of E-5 from May 12, 1966, until 1968, and continued his service in the Army Reserves until May 11, 1972. A dedicated professional, Vince retired in 2008 after a successful career with Cartridge World in Gainesville and Canteen Vending, where he was honored as the 2000 Associate of the Year.

A passionate leader, Vince was named President of the National Exchange Club for the 2011-2012 term. In 2010, he received the prestigious James M. Parrish Community Leadership Award from the Gainesville Alachua County Association of Realtors, a testament to his commitment to service and his community. His love for people and community extended to game days, where he warmly welcomed guests at University of Florida football games.

Beyond his professional and community commitments, Vince was a devoted fan of the Florida Gators and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Vince’s love for life was deeply shared with his wife, Joyce B. Dorval, whom he married on March 18, 2000. He is survived by Joyce, his beloved stepdaughter Cherie T. Coburn, and grandchildren Ian Coburn (Danielle) and Hannah Coburn. He also leaves behind his dear sister Elizabeth (Betty) Murnane and brother Nicholas Gargiulo Jr.

Vince’s legacy of kindness, leadership, and service will be celebrated in a memorial at Forest Meadows East Veteran Section. Details of his Celebration of Life are forthcoming.

In loving memory of a life well-lived, may Vince rest in eternal peace.

Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the Gargiulo Family.
