Joanne Pease

Joanne Pease, age 96, passed away on November 12, 2024, in Trenton, Florida. She was born June 25, 1928, to Charles Raymond Pease and Verna Howell Pease.

Joanne graduated from Miami High School in 1946. In pursuit of her love of dance, Joanne moved to New York City and danced with several dance companies and the USO. Later in the 1950’s, Joanne and her life partner, Suzanne Danley moved back to Miami, Florida and opened a Dance Shoppe where for a number of years they designed and sold dance costumes and accessories.

After retirement Joanne and Suzanne moved to Gainesville, Florida, where they enjoyed gardening and frequently entertained friends. Following Suzanne’s death in 2012, Joanne lived for periods of time in the Village at Gainesville and Advent Christian Village in Lake City, Florida. In 2021, Joanne moved to Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton, Florida, where she lived until her passing of natural causes.

Her lifelong loves were friends, family, dancing, gardening, animals of all kinds, children, and ice cream.

Joanne is survived by her cousins Lucy Bryan of Fernandina Beach, Florida, and Michael Howell of Parkville, Missouri. Her family and friends wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care of Joanne during her final years.
