Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Thomas was educated in the local public school system before attending the prestigious High School of Performing Arts in New York City. He furthered his education at the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcasting.

Thomas's career was as diverse as his interests. He began his professional journey as a hairdresser at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, later transitioning to roles as a mediator and mentor to high school students. His passion for music and the arts saw him working as a musical salesman at the world-famous Manny's Music store in Manhattan and pursuing acting.

In addition to his civilian career, Thomas proudly served in the US Army Band, where his musical talents were a significant contribution to military morale and ceremonial functions.

He was a loving father and a caring individual, survived by his two sons, Thomas and Chris. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas, mother Rose, and brother Ronnie.
