Lawrence Leon Cleesen

May 29,1942 - November 23, 2024

Lawrence “Larry” Leon Cleesen, also known as “The Duckman”, age 82, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024 at his residence in Ocala, Florida. He was born on May 29, 1942 in Quincy, Illinois, to Robert and Elizabeth Cleesen. He moved to Florida in 1987 while employed with Allied Construction. He was a proud resident of Bradford County, Florida for many years before moving to Ocala, Florida. He spent many happy years selling chickens, catching ducks, fishing with his grandchildren and cheering on all of the kids at baseball games.

To know Larry, was to love him. Anyone that spent time with "PAPA" left with a heart full of love and a couple new stories. When you saw Larry, he would always have Louie (his treasured dog) or a grandchild by his side to keep him company. You could often find Larry at a livestock market buying some type of animal.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a great-aunt, an uncle, two nieces, a granddaughter, his beloved son Mark and his treasured Louie.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Laura, his in-laws Roy and Gloria Stiltner, his children, Amber (Josh), Larry Jr., Ashley (Doug), Debbie and his beloved Grandchildren: Courtni and Camden; Treyce, Wrenley, and Lawson; Kolt and Jensen; two sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family is very grateful for the benevolent and excellent care provided by Cornerstone Hospice
