Harry Clarence Beard Jr

Harry Clarence Beard Jr., age 72, passed away on December 16, 2024, in Gainesville, Florida. Born on November 26, 1952, Harry was known for his wit and fun sense of humor, always able to bring laughter to any situation. He lived a life marked by a laid-back attitude and dedication to his work in the RV industry.

Harry attended Concord High School and carried the values of hard work throughout his entire career. Beyond his professional life, he was passionate about the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and searching for shark teeth at the beaches of Florida.

Harry was a beloved family member and is survived by his significant other, Linda Shaw of Chiefland, FL. He was formerly married to Gloria Rucker, the mother of his children, Nicole Brubaker (Gary), Crystal Beard, April Beard. Siblings, Daniel Beard (Carol), Sandy Smith (Terry), Tina Jackson (Shane), and Scott Beard (Cricket).  Grandchildren, Caryssa Beard, Alexxus Jackson, Cierra Beard, Jordan Morris, Xzavier Beard, Xzander Beard, Cambria Brubaker and  Cailynn Brubaker and great-granddaughter, Allison Callahan. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Beard, father Harry Beard Sr., and siblings William (Bill) Beard, Gary Beard, Deborah Beard, and Kenneth Beard. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Harry's memory. Those who knew him will remember a man who brought joy and laughter to their lives, and who cherished his moments in nature.

    He did love the outdoors. He was proud to have bought and paid for his first car, 1967 blue chevy supersport .

  4. I met Harry Beard through his daughter Nikki nearly 40 years ago. He had a great sense of humor was passionate about fishing and allowed me to date my first love, his daughter. I pray for the ones he has left behind.

  5. I am going to miss Hairball. He was a great brother-in-law. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I love yall and you will always be our family. You are always welcome. We are going to get over to see yall. I have never been to St. Augustine. Love yall always.

  6. I can’t even describe how sad I was when I heard about my great grandpas passing. Though I don’t have a lot of memories with Pawpaw- I will always cherish our memories from when I was younger. I do wish that he continues to have a happy time, wherever he is now. His spirit will always continue to glow in my mind and life. I will always remember him forever ♾️.
