Mable Bryant, 83, of Jacksonville, FL, peacefully passed away on January 08, 2025 after a long battle with Dementia.
Mable was born on April 3rd, 1941 to JB and Velma Medders in the city of Anniston, AL. Mable worked in Retail sales for over 27 years and loved selling and especially meeting new people each day. In 1958 she met Gerald Bryant in the neighborhood where they lived. Mable and Gerald got married in 1961 and went on to have three children, Sherry Smith, Melanie Slagoski and Michael Bryant. Mable retired in 1995 after 35 years in sales with McRae’s department store. While retired, Mable had time to pursue her love of spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her love of shopping (to her husband’s dismay, that he mercifully teased her about.)
Mable was predeceased by her father JB Medders and mother Velma Medders, brother in law Lamar Bryant and brother in law Jim Adkinson.
She is survived by Husband Gerald Bryant, Daughter, Sherry (Steve) Smith, Daughter Melanie (Steve) Slagoski and Son, Michael Bryant. Grandchildren include Alexa (Michael) Gooch, Amanda (Samuel) Carpio, Andrew Smith, Haley Watson, Hannah Watson and Madison Bryant. Great-grandchildren Blaaidyn Gooch and Brierlee Gooch and Sister Doris Adkinson and Nephew Jason Adkinson.
Services will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery to be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Dementia Society of America in memory of Mable Bryant at www.DementiaSociety.org/donate.
