Gainesville, FL – Audrey L. Spallina, 92, passed peacefully with family by
her side on February 19th 2025. She was born November 12th 1932 in
Olean, New York.
The daughter of Ward Swort and Christine Swort, and brother Maynard.
Audrey graduated from Smethport High School Class of 1950.
Following graduation Audrey moved to Rochester N.Y. and worked at
Eastman Kodak, where she met her soon to be husband James Spallina.
They were married on December 29th,1951 and settled in Rochester N.Y.
James and Audrey celebrated over 71 years of a loving marriage together.
While living in Erie, PA., Audrey earned her LPN license as well as being a
Red Cross volunteer and sang with the Erie Philharmonic Choir. Audrey
was a devout Catholic and served as an Eucharistic Minister as well as
Choir Director for Sunday masses. Audrey was an avid knitter and enjoyed
cooking, ceramics, square dancing and singing in Church Choirs.
James and Audrey retired in LaBelle, FL, in 1988.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James in
2023, son Richard in 1977 and brother Maynard in 1966. Surviving are her
sons, Robert and wife Jeanette of Smethport, PA; James A. Spallina Jr.
and wife Lori Hunt of Archer FL; and Stephen Spallina of Archer, FL.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jesse Spallina and wife Alex;
Stephanie (Spallina) Robinson and husband James and their daughter
Angel; Rachel (Spallina) Etcheverry and husband Thomas and their
daughter Audrey; Jayson Spallina and loving nieces, nephews and friends.
