In Loving Memory of Ray Anthony DeDeo
June 25th, 1956 – February 21st, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ray Anthony DeDeo, a man known for his unwavering spirit and deep love for nature. He departed this world on February 21st, 2025, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered by all who knew him.
A proud and determined man, Ray was nothing if not stubborn. He approached life with a tenacity that often surprised those around him. Whether he was tinkering with something, lending a hand to a friend in need, or standing up for what he believed was right, he never backed down from a challenge. His steadfast nature was balanced by a heart that could not be more loving.
Above all, Ray found peace and joy in the great outdoors. He spent countless hours by the water, rod in hand, fishing in solitude, or sharing stories of the one that got away. His love for nature was matched only by his respect for it, and many who spent time with him marveled at how deeply he connected to the land, the sky, and the water. The quiet moments spent fishing at dawn or hiking through the woods were, for him, some of life's most fulfilling experiences.
His family and friends will remember him not just for his stubbornness but for the soft, tender heart he kept hidden beneath a tough exterior. His memory will live on in the quiet beauty of the natural world he cherished, and in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Though his fishing pole may be laid to rest, his spirit will continue to cast a line into the waters of our hearts forever.
Ray is survived by his mother, Nancy DeDeo, his son, Nathan DeDeo (Jennifer), and his six siblings: Frank DeDeo (Joy), Pam Anzalone (Ed), Diana Lynne Adams (Bill), Tia Lane (Al), Keith DeDeo (Stacey), Paul DeDeo (Cindy). He was preceded in death by his father, Frank DeDeo, and his late brother, Dale DeDeo. Though he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy DeDeo, who he loved dearly, his family will continue to honor the strength and love he passed down through the generations. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart, and who will cherish his memory forever.
Rest in peace, Ray may you never be forgotten.
Crevasse's Simple Cremation is honored to serve the DeDeo family.

Ray was my childhood best friend. We spent so much time together. I thought of him as my brother, and his family accepted me as part of the family as well. We grew apart as adults, but I always thought of him through the years. This photo is from our last time together. He visited with me during one of his visits with Nathan in NJ.
I am so sorry I didn’t get to see you Ray. Rip I know you will be missed
Love
