Raja Antoon Yazdiya

July 1, 1941 ~ March 13, 2025

Raja Antoon Yazdiya, 83, of Jacksonville, Florida went home to be with God on March 13, 2025, following a brief illness.  Raja was born on July 1, 1941, in Baghdad, Iraq.  She married her loving husband, Francis Yazdiya, in 1964 and came to the United States where they settled to enjoy a wonderful life together and raise their four children.

Raja’s passion in this life was her family.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Nana.  Her family was blessed to experience Christ’s sacrificial love through her.  She was happiest when her family was around her.  She enjoyed cooking traditional Arabic food for family occasions and holidays.  She truly cherished being with all of us.  Her love and devotion to Christ and the passion of her faith could be seen by all who knew her.

Raja was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Francis, her parents, two brothers and 1 sister.  She is survived by two sisters, Amal and Batul, and her 4 children: John (Lisa) Yazdiya, Anthony (Grace) Yazdiya, Vivian (Martin) Schultz, Christopher (Nancy) Yazdiya.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Rachel (Robert) Wolford, Joshua, Abigail, Annabelle, Logan and Sarah Yazdiya, and Brianna and Noelle Schultz and two great-grand sons Robert III and Alexander Wolford.

A service of family and friends was held at St. Joseph's Historic Catholic Church in Mandarin.  Raja was buried alongside her husband Francis in St. Joseph's cemetery.

  1. Our condolences to your entire family. Although we did not have any opportunity to spend much time with Rajaa as of late, we did enjoy our all experiences together. We will miss her and we will not forget her. I will miss my aunt. From since I was young you were with me. Now, I must learn to live without you. I pray for strength for anyone grieving for Rajaa. We also pray for her and her family. We send our best wishes and pray that her family can come together to go through the process of grief together. We pray that she is doing well in heaven and most importantly, may she rest in peace.
