Christine Dorothea Swanson, Age 74, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025 in the presence of her family.
Chris is loved by her family – son, siblings, nieces, and great nephews.
Everyone loved Chris because she was sensitive to the people around her and to their needs. Her kind and thoughtful responses were enhanced by her excellent judgment, organizational skills, artistic creativity and humor.
Her co-workers said Chris was the glue that held their workplace together. Chris worked for over twenty years as the Administrative Assistant at the University of Florida PREC (Program for Resource Efficient Communities), a part of the Cooperative Extension Services.
Chris and her husband Will were nature hikers and avid kayakers on Florida’s abundant trails and waterways.
Chris was loving to animals. She avoided pesticide and herbicide use, preferring to create a natural and non-toxic home landscape for all living creatures.
There will be no viewing or funeral services at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of the following 503(c)(3), local non-profits in memory of Chris. Five dollar donations are welcomed. Each non-profit link below has a short description of its purpose and projects, followed by a donation button. Thank you very much.
