Brady Ward Jr.

Brady Ward Jr., age 90, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on March 19, 1935, in Wayne County, West Virginia, Brady lived a life marked by service, dedication, and deep familial bonds.

Brady lost his loving wife, of 41 years, Virginia "Dolly" Ward on September 13, 2003.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate. Brady served his country with distinction for 20 years. As a COD (Carrier Onboard Delivery) Air Crewman, while stationed aboard several notable aircraft carriers including the USS Saratoga, USS Independence, and the USS America. His commitment to duty and country left a lasting impression on those who served alongside him.

Brady continued his work career, long after a normal retirement, at Gate Precast Concrete in Jacksonville, FL

Beyond his military career, Brady was known as a dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His legacy lives on through the generations he helped raise and guide with strength and care.

Brady is survived by his son Brady Ward III (Susan), Step-son William Thurston (Marge), Granddaughters Jessica Ward and Samantha Ward, Grandsons John Thurston (Kristine), Charles Thurston (Glenda) and Great-Grandsons Deklan Thurston and Casey Thurston.

Brady is also survived by his sisters Donna, Cora, and Dottie of Huntington West Virginia.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a reminder of a life well-lived in service and love.
