Thelma Allen Mashour

Thelma Allen Mashour, 101, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on May 1, 2025.

Born December 3, 1923 in Jacksonville, 101 years ago at the old St. Vincent’s Hospital in Riverside. Thelma graduated from Robert E. Lee High School where she was Treasurer of her senior class. She moved from Jacksonville to Miami and lived there for 40 years with her husband as they raised their family. She loved watching football and was a big Dolphins and Jaguars fan her whole life.

In Miami she retired from Burdines Department Store where she worked many years in the fine jewelry department. She was awarded employee of the month on multiple occasions and received many commendations. She served as president of the Syrian Ladies Charity Society, she was a life-time member of the Salaam Club of Florida and a member of the Molaka Club. She loved to travel and went on many wonderful trips both international and within the United States.

Thelma always brought light and joy to all those who crossed her path and would help anyone who was in need.

She is predeceased by her husband Nelson Mashour, her son Nelson Mashour Jr. and her daughter Pamela Brandon. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Salem, her daughter in law Mary Mashour, grandchildren Terri Mashour, Susie Rawlins, Stephen Salem, Mitchell Salem, Kristen Salem and Richard Brandon, great grandchildren Picchu and Hammie McClelland, Owen and Brooks Rawlins.
