Cynthia June Ellerker

January 3, 1940 ~ June 6, 2025

Cynthia June Ellerker, 85, of Gainesville, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 6, 2025.

She was born on January 3, 1940, in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England, to Elsie Birch. Cynthia was known for her warm humor, deep faith in God, and unwavering kindness. A generous and loving soul, she found joy in the simplest pleasures—road trips, shopping, long chats with friends, and, most of all, time spent with family.

Knitting was her lifelong passion. Cynthia lovingly created hundreds of children's sweaters over the years, which were donated to her dear friend’s mission and shared with local hospitals and communities in need. Her hands were rarely still, always crafting something with care and purpose.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Birch.

Cynthia is survived by her children, Shelly Osadciw (Ellerker) and son-in-law Peter Osadciw, Sharon Thomas (Ellerker), Frank Ellerker and daughter-in-law Ellen Ellerker; and by her grandchildren, Laura Osadciw, Kayla Hysell, and C.J. Thomas.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Community Hospice & Palliative Care of Gainesville, Florida—especially her beloved nurse, Kim. Kim’s compassion and attentive care brought light and comfort to Cynthia’s final months and was a steady, calming presence for the family during this time.

Cynthia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

“For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.”
—Psalm 91:11 (NKJV)

  1. Nan was a constant in my life—faithful, loving, and full of quiet strength. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel seen and cherished. Her hugs were unforgettable, and her dry humor left us all laughing. I was always proud to share in her wit and warmth.

She had a deep and abiding faith, a sweet tooth she never denied, and a love for simple joys—like knitting, singing, and her precious Piglet. Even when her body grew weak, her spirit remained strong and full of grace.

She brought light into every room, and though words can never fully capture what she meant to me, I will carry her love with me always.

I will miss her forever and love her infinitely always. Until we meet again.

  2. Nanny –

How blessed I was to spend 23 years in your presence. I grieve for your body but know that’s no longer where you are. I know we’ll meet again sometime soon and that when we do you’ll be without pain or worry. In the meantime I’ll keep missing you. Please give Tebow all my love. You’ll have to tell me if he was the first one to greet you in heaven.
    I love you always Nanny.

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
    Revelation 21:4

  3. Mom, my heart is broken.  I will miss you for the rest of my days in this lifetime but look forward to the day we meet again.  Rest easy in HIS everlasting arms!

    Love you forever
    Sharon

  4. Cynthia was a lovely lady with a great sense of humor and a kind heart. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her. RIP.

  5. Cynthia was my mom’s best friend and was the one who helped me more than anyone else to process my grief when my mom died. I will always be grateful to her for her loving kindness and compassion.

I have so many memories of trips taken with her over the years. So many fun days filled with laughter. It brings me great joy to remember those times. I know my mom was one of the first people in line to welcome her home, and I can only imagine what a reunion they are having right now.

Thank you Cynthia for all the precious memories. I will hold them, and you, forever in my heart. ❤️
