Sheila C. Welch

April 3, 1950 ~ July 5, 2025

Sheila Welch, 75, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family’s.

Sheila was a bold, radiant, and deeply loving woman whose warmth and authenticity touched all who knew her. With a quick wit and open heart, she had a unique ability to make people feel cherished and understood. She approached life with love & courage—and always lived it her way.

As a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, Sheila’s top priority was her family. She poured her whole heart into her children and grandchild, and her love leaves a legacy that lives on in each of them.

Sheila is survived by her son Alex Welch, (42), her daughter Mandy (Dan) Leary (39), and her beloved granddaughter, Charlotte Leary (2).   She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Lofton & Albert Chamberlin and dear loved ones she carried in her heart.

Per her wishes, a private cremation was held, followed by a celebration of life for close family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Florida, supporting end‑of‑life care and grief services for others in need. To give in Sheila’s memory, please visit:

  1. Dear Welch family,

We are truly sad for your loss. Our prayers, well wishes and thoughts are frequent for those who suffer due to the sting of pain death brings. We all experience your loss as God created humans to live forever but the Bible teaches that soon death will end at Revelation 21:3,4
The scriptures bring us comfort. We mourn with you & look to see Jesus call & our loved ones to answer. I pray for your comfort at this most difficult time but also your endurance to rely on God. For comfort from the Bible, please visit https://bit.ly/truthlifedeath

  2. Both of my brothers (Hank and Revel) and myself just learned today of Shelia's passing. We all knew her from high school in Charlotte. We all have excellent memories of Sheila from that period and we all thought her to be a special young girl then. Half a century later I'm reading this published summary of bits of her life since those days. My condolences to her her son Alex, daughters Mandy and Leary and her granddaughter Charlotte must miss this special woman.
