Therese "Tree" Iammarino

January 28, 1924 ~ July 11, 2025

Therese “Tree” Iammarino, age 101, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, in St. Augustine, Florida, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on January 28, 1924, in Cleveland, Ohio, Therese lived a long and beautiful life.  A natural leader from an early age, she served as senior class president at Notre Dame Academy, where she formed friendships and values that would shape the rest of her life.

In 1944, she married the love of her life, John Iammarino. Together they shared 46 devoted years of marriage before his passing, building a home filled with love, laughter, and loud boisterous fun. (In the Italian way). Not for the faint of heart or timid. Their partnership was a true testament to lasting love and mutual respect.

Therese was the proud and devoted mother of five children: Paula, John (“Butch”), Greg, Dennis, and Judy. She was a loving grandmother to ten grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother. Her family was the heart of her world, and she nurtured them with homemade meals from her kitchen. There were times when dinner was hidden in the washing machine so that dad would have something to eat!

Tree had a gift for making people feel at home. A talented ceramic artist, she not only created beautiful pieces but also taught others the joy of the craft. She was a generous, thoughtful woman known for her warmth, hospitality, and the quiet strength that guided her family through life’s joys and challenges.

Though she spent her final years in Florida, Therese will be laid to rest in Ohio, beside her beloved husband John at a later date. Please contact the family for more information.

Her legacy lives on in the family she raised and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Guestbook

  1. I’m sorry for your family’s loss. She sounds like a well rounded, respected woman that had several life accomplishments.

  2. Tree was a strong branch of the Vaccaronotti tree established by her parents Vincenzo and Angie. She embodied their Italian values and spirit. She and her John contributed American energy and optimism to them which they passed onto their children. They embraced me and my mom into their clan showering us with warmth kindness and love that has lasted over 75 years thanks to this warm Italian legacy which Theresa and now her offspring perpetuated.  She will be missed but the beat goes on.

  3. I didn't know her very long but the time I got to sit with her, enjoy meals together, play rummican and watch Wheel of fortune truly brought great joy and memories to my life. I will miss her dearly.

  4. I will forever remember Theresa with always a smile on her face and joy !!  Our Mulea family has so many beautiful memories of dear Theresa, John, her wonderful children and her amazing parents !!  Sharing many family get-togethers and celebrations which I will always cherish those special moments in time !!!  Rest in Peace sweet Theresa…you are always in my heart .

  5. The first time I met my dear cousin Therese, it was in Italy and I was a kid of about 7 years.
She was a kind and lovely lady.
The second time it was in U.S.A.,
I was on honeymoon at 28yrs old.
She was so sweet and always smiling.
This is the way I remember her and
    I’ll never forget her.
To me she was: “Teresina d’America”,
I know it sounds funny,  but to me it was a lovely way to speak about her.
I wish she’s meeting his beloved husband John staying together forever in peace.
I send you and the whole family all my deepest and heartfelt sympathies, together with my husband Enzo, my daughter Alessia and my sister Susanna.
    Love from  Italy ❤️
