Tony Glen McRay

August 8, 1955 ~ August 14, 2025

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the passing of Tony Glen McRay. He passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on August 14, 2025 due to Heart Failure.

Although Tony was currently residing at an Assisted Living Facility in Starke, Florida, he was a long-time resident of Lake City, Florida.

Tony was born in Mercer County Kentucky, to Helen and Donald McRay. He graduated from high school and served 4 years in the US Air Force. After leaving the Air Force, The McRay’s relocated to Lake City Florida in the 1970’s. From there Tony worked alongside his father for a short time building homes. He then continued his career working with multiple general construction companies along the way expanding his knowledge in the construction industry. In 1994, Tony finally found his calling in the Architectural Door and Hardware industry as he started working for Taylor Cotton & Ridley Inc. Tony remained a dedicated employee until he retired in 2010.

Although Tony had found his calling at work; Tony learned what life was truly about in 1988 when his son, Michael, was born. Michael was Tony’s only child, his first-born son and Tony was very Proud of that. Tony made a point to prioritize Michael’s growth as well as learning to love adventure. Tony would regularly take Michael on trips, ranging from Kentucky, Ohio and one of their favorite stops, Niagara Falls. Michael was Tony’s world, prioritizing his needs and wants above his own. Tony loved Michael deeply and unconditionally.

Tony McRay is survived by his son Michael McRay, daughter-in-law Chelsea McRay, Grandchildren, Jacob McRay and Hannah McRay, his sister Donna Whitley and Brother In Law Hal Whitley, as well as many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald McRay and Helen McRay, Sister, Vicky McRay, Brothers, Gerald McRay, and Robbin McRay.
